TaloVera™ Lip Balm
Same base. Pocket sized.
This is not a different recipe wearing the same label. It is the TaloVera base that goes in the jar, tallow and aloe, with beeswax and two butters added so it is firm enough to twist up and survive a cold car. Mango butter melts at lip temperature. Shea sits a little heavier. Jojoba keeps it gliding when your lips are already cracked.
Buy two. One lives in a coat pocket and is never seen again. Everybody knows it.

What's in it
- USDA beef tallow, rendered from suet
- Rich, skin-compatible fats that stay put.
- The same suet-rendered tallow that goes in the jar.
- 100% pure aloe vera gel
- Soothes and hydrates.
- Gel, not juice.
- Mango butter
- Softens and conditions.
- A soft butter that melts at lip temperature rather than sitting on top.
- Fractionated coconut oil
- Carries the butters and keeps the balm gliding.
- Fractionated so it stays liquid and does not go grainy in the tube.
- Shea butter
- Conditions and comforts.
- The other half of the butter pair, heavier than the mango.
- Emulsifying wax NF
- Holds the butters and the aloe together.
- Without it the water in the aloe and the fats separate in the tube.
- Pure jojoba oil
- Closest plant match to skin's own oil.
- Keeps it gliding rather than dragging when your lips are already chapped.
- Beeswax
- Structure, and seals moisture in.
- The one addition. It's what makes this a stick instead of a balm in a jar, and why it holds up in a cold car.
- Radish root ferment and a pinch of potassium sorbate, the wine-and-cheese preservative.
- Water and fat in one tube need holding.
About the preservative, because we said nothing fake.
Aloe gel is mostly water, and anything with water in it will grow mold unless something stops it. Most big brands stop it with parabens, phenoxyethanol or a formaldehyde releaser. We use two things. Radish root ferment, which is exactly what it sounds like: radish roots fermented by the same bacteria that ferment kimchi. And a pinch of potassium sorbate, the salt of an acid first found in rowan berries, the same preservative in a bottle of wine, a wedge of cheese or a bag of dried fruit. Less than a quarter of one percent of the jar. Both are on the label. We would rather name them than sell you a jar that grows something.
