Terms
Written by us, not by a lawyer
We wrote these ourselves, from how this business actually runs. They are not legal advice. A lawyer has not been over them yet, and when one has, anything that needs correcting gets corrected here.
Plain version: we make things by hand in small batches, we sell them direct, four of them can only be sold in Michigan, and if we get something wrong we would rather fix it than argue about it.
Who we are
Four Waters™ is a trade name of Proxura LLC, a small handmade goods business operating in Michigan and selling through four-waters.com. When these terms say "we" or "us", they mean Proxura LLC, which is the party you are contracting with when you place an order.
What these terms cover
They cover using this website and ordering from us. If you place an order you are agreeing to them as they read on the day you order.
Ordering
We take orders online, in person at markets, and by email. Everything in this section applies the same way whichever way you order.
Placing an order is an offer to buy. The order is accepted when we confirm it and it ships. Until then we may decline or cancel it and refund you in full. Usually that means a small batch ran out between you ordering and us packing it.
Prices
Prices are in US dollars. Shipping and any sales tax are added on top of the item price. The total we give you before you pay is the amount you owe, and nothing is added after that.
The same total shows on screen before you pay.
If a price is obviously wrong, a typo or a missing digit, we may cancel the order and refund you rather than fill it at the mistaken price. We will tell you why.
Small batches and availability
Everything is made in small batches, so availability moves. A product can sell out between the moment you see it and the moment you order it. Where a batch is gone we say so on the page rather than taking money for something we cannot send.
Where we can ship
TaloVera Skin Cream, TaloVera Lip Balm, Gilded Parrot Beard Oil and Gilded Parrot Beard Balm ship to all fifty states. We do not ship internationally.
Hard Red Wheat Flour, White Wheat Flour, Pure Vanilla Extract and Fresh Wheat Germ ship to Michigan addresses only. They are cottage food products made in a home kitchen, and Michigan cottage food law does not allow us to sell them out of state. That holds however you order, and it is not something we can waive for anyone.
EmberLeaf Oregano Infused Olive Oil ships to Michigan addresses only as well, for now. That one is our decision rather than a legal restriction: it is not a cottage food, and we sell it in Michigan at markets and by post within the state.
We also sell in person and by email, and the Michigan rule applies exactly the same: we tell you before you pay rather than after. Online checkout refuses a shipping address outside Michigan for those items at the address step, before payment.
An order ships to one address, so if there is anything Michigan-only in it, the whole order has to go to a Michigan address. Anything going out of state needs to be a separate order. The full explanation is on the FAQ.
Cottage food products
Hard Red Wheat Flour, White Wheat Flour, Pure Vanilla Extract and Fresh Wheat Germ are made in a home kitchen rather than in a licensed and inspected commercial facility. Their labels carry the home-kitchen disclosure the state requires, along with the ingredients, the net weight and the batch's lot number.
The state sets the exact wording of that disclosure. It is printed on the label word for word rather than paraphrased, and we have not paraphrased it here either, because a close approximation of a required sentence is not the required sentence.
What we claim about our products, and what we do not
Our skin products are cosmetics. They are moisturizers, made for dry, rough, flaky-looking skin, and they leave skin feeling soft and moisturized. That is the whole of what we say about them.
EmberLeaf Oregano Infused Olive Oil is a culinary infused oil. We make no claims about what it does for the body.
We make no health or medical claims about anything we sell, and nothing we sell is medicine. If you have a specific concern, ask someone qualified to answer it. Read the ingredients before you use something, and if a product is not right for you, stop using it and tell us.

Using this site
Use it to read about what we make and to order from us. Do not scrape it, do not use the contact form or sign-up forms to send bulk or automated messages, and do not try to break into any part of it.
Our words and pictures
The text, photographs, logo and wave mark on this site are ours. You are welcome to link to any page. Please do not copy the copy or reuse the mark as if it were yours.
Keeping the site right
We try to keep every page accurate, especially ingredients and shipping limits. If you find something wrong, tell us and we will fix it rather than leave it.
Liability
We are responsible for what we make and for what we send you. If something arrives damaged, wrong or not the way we would want to receive it, the refunds page says what happens next, and we would rather fix it than argue about it. We are not going to paste in borrowed legal wording that nobody has checked, so this section says what we actually mean and no more.
Which law applies
We make everything in Michigan, we sell from Michigan, and Michigan law is what governs how we operate.
Changes to these terms
When these change, the updated version appears here with a new effective date. The version that applies to your order is the one that was on this page when you ordered.
